We’re still here…

It’s been a week now and things are looking up. The bacteria causing the pneumonia has been identified and luckily Creed was already on the right antibiotics for that! Talks of going home are now surfacing and that’s always exciting!! Both of us are def ready for that. At this point the only reason he’s still here is because he is still requiring a little oxygen. Pneumonia is def not something that goes away quickly, as we are well aware of. I mean after the 10th or so time of having it you kinda know the routine. Yesterday was his first day out of his bed and room. He spent about 3 hours with his buddy Casper and friends in volunteer services. He was pretty wiped out when he came back. Hoping for more of that today!! Well, I guess that pretty much sums up what’s going on in room 195. Thanks for loving us and lifting us up in prayer!! We are beyond grateful!!

Wow…it’s been a while since I’ve done this. Creed’s had a few bumps in the road since November, I’ll get into those at a later date. Today I’m just going to focus on our latest issue.
Yesterday Creed had his first fever in over a year. I knew the moment I touched his head that it was there. Sadly, my first thought was do I really have to call the doctor? I knew I did, but I also knew what that fever meant. So, I called, and yes, we had to be admitted. Blood test and chest x-rays showed pneumonia in the left lung, and a bacterial infection in his line (port). Antibiotics, breathing treatments, and yes some blood have been the treatment so far. This evening he had a CT scan to see if there is fungus or yeast in his lung as well. The results of that aren’t back just yet. So right now…Creed’s resting…feeling pretty yucky and at times a little, well a lot grumpy. Who wouldn’t be right???
So, for tonight this is all I’ve got for ya…please pray for a quick recovery and no fungus or yeast!!! Pneumonia is enough to deal with in his little lungs!!

Guess I better get back in the routine of posting on here. We need all the prayers we can get and I know you all will definitely send them up for us!!

Creed is out of the PICU

Thank you for all your prayers for Creed over the last few days!

He was not feeling well last week and progressively got worse over the weekend. He was admitted to the PICU Sunday night with extremely low hemoglobin levels. After many tests and lots of discussions, the doctors have decided to treat him with a chemo drug that has worked for him before. It has very limited side effects and hopefully he will be back to himself very soon! He will also continue to get his IVIG (Intravenous immunoglobulin) treatments for a bit longer than previously hoped but he’s INCREEDIBLE and we know he’ll handle it like a trooper!

The good news is that he’s feeling better and he’s back “home” at the AFLAC Center.

Please continue your prayers and know how much they are felt and appreciated. He misses his friends and he’s ready to go home but he has enjoyed several visits with Casper the dog and we know he loves that!

good day and spent most of it with Casper.

Hemoglobin is 9!!!!!!!!

Headed back to Aflac today. No rituxamab right now. His
body seems to be responding to the steroids.

The night was good, slept most of the night. Just resting
now.

Creed is in the PICU and needs your prayers!

Stephanie took him to the ER yesterday because he was not feeling well and he was admitted to the PICU overnight.

Because his body was under so much stress, his blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels all dropped. They had to do a blood transfusion that took 8 hours but it seems to be helping as he is now sitting up and talking. The plan is that he will return to the Aflac section of the hospital tomorrow.

I will update more later today. In the meantime, please pray!

Can you believe it has been a year since Creed had his transplant? He is
a vibrant young man and many of you in the Sumter County area have expressed
that you would like to meet Creed. Well here’s your chance. On
Sunday, September 4, 2011, at 3:00 pm, you are invited to meet Creed at the
“Dirt Road” for cake and ice cream. We are going to celebrate
his one year Health Birthday. We are asking that you do NOT bring gifts
but we would love for you to write a note about how “Praying for Creed”
has affected you, your family, your prayer life or any other way he has touched
you this past year. There are many of you out there that get the blog but
don’t live close enough to come to this celebration event or maybe you are
taking a mini vacation during this weekend. We would still love for you
to participate by writing and sending your notes to the “Dirt

Many thanks for all the prayers that you have extended to our sweet daughter,
Stephanie better known as Creed’s Mom, and the Creeder. Now I ask that
you continue in your prayers by praising our Heavenly Father for the healing
that He has done in Creed. What an awesome and mighty God we serve.
