Slow and steady…

Creed had another good day.  He’s currently still on the oscillator and CCVH (dialysis).  He’s made great progress on both and the plan is to come off of the oscillator tomorrow and go back onto the conventional ventilator.  (assuming all goes well tonight) He is still being treated for thread worms and will continue that treatment for a week.  There’s really no way to know right now if it is thread worms because the test requires a stool study and my little guy isn’t pooping right now.  But it’s not gonna hurt him to treat him for it, so we’re doing it.  In the mean time the infectious disease docs have requested several blood cultures to see if he may have some other types of Asymptomatic infections.  These test take several days (as always).  All the docs are very pleased with the progress he’s made so far.  His PICU doc today told me that she feels we’ve put out the fire, now we have to find the cause.  This is always the “fun” part.  Right now he has 5 docs all racking there brains, trying to figure this mess out.  Of course we are winding down the week and that means new docs coming in.  This will hopefully be helpful to get more brains on deck.  We’ll see….

So tomorrow brings a big jump forward with changing breathing machines.  Pray that Creed is strong enough to handle the switch and that it all goes smoothly.  Thank you all so much for your prayers!!  The prayer pager almost goes off constantly.  It blows my mind when I sit and think about how many people are praying for him and love him so.  I’ll let you know how tomorrow goes!!!

Much love and thanks!!
